Protect the golden goose, not just the golden eggs
People often talk about protecting their health and wealth, but sometimes these conversations don’t go past the “wealth” part. Let’s create a new conversation where we authentically discuss our health.Start by taking a step back to become present to the cause and effect of everything in your life: you. You are responsible for everything in your life and you must take good care of yourself if you want to continue generating. There are many options available to protect yourself, including life and health insurance, critical illness coverage and disability insurance.Taking good care of your physical (and mental) health is of primary importance. If you don’t, you will be damaging your ability to pursue your passion and you will be unable to enjoy the fruits of your labour to the fullest. For example, if you’re passionate about extreme sports, you will be unable to participate if your back is unwell. If you’re passionate about helping others, you will be unable to commit to that passion. If your mental health is suffering, you will not find peace of mind. These are just a few of the many examples of things that will go wrong if your health is neglected.Even if you don’t care about your own health, you must be present to the impact your poor health may have on others.Your family will have to shoulder the burden of caring for you and your friends will be lonely because their friend is too frail to spend time with them.More broadly, you will impact society as your poor health drives up healthcare costs for everyone. None of this is not intended to shame – but it is a call to get present to the impact of our actions and inaction.Getting present to the future impact helps us become proactive and avoid problems before they become overwhelming.Call us to get in action about your health.
